Title Instability and vibration behaviour of sandwich plate on Kerr foundation

Abstract This study investigates the vibration and instability behavior of a sandwich plate with glass epoxy face sheets and a carbon nanotube reinforced composite (CNTRC) core resting on the Kerr foundation. Emphasizing the significance of alignment angle reinforced composites, the research aims to understand the critical load and frequency changes that lead to instability under various loading conditions. Utilizing both homogenization methods and high-order plate theories, the analysis reveals the interaction between the face sheets and the nanocomposite core material, highlighting the influence of the reinforcement alignment on the overall stability. Results indicate that nanofibers’ volume fraction, the fiber angle orientation, geometric parameters, and the foundation’s parameters significantly affect the flutter and vibration characteristics, offering insights into optimizing sandwich plate design for enhanced structural performance. The findings contribute to advancing the application of highorder plate models in predicting and mitigating instability in advanced composite structures.
